SAFMANNAN
The immune system of fish differs when compared to mammals. The immune system can be supported by vaccination against diseases and by enriching the diet with immune stimulants such as β-glucan and mannanoligosaccharides. Safmannan, obtained by autolyzing a special strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, is a first-class yeast cell wall fraction rich in β-glucan (1-3,1-6) and mannoproteins (mannan).
Features
• It supports intestinal morphology (villi length, crypt depth, tight junctions between epithelium, goblet cell formation, mucus secretion).
• It prevents pathogen colonization in the intestines and thus protects intestinal health.
• It boosts the immune system (cellular and humoral immunity).
• It is effective in preventing heat stress.
• It improves performance values (live weight, feed conversion, mortality rate).
